If you experience any technical difficulties with your phone or SIM card and you do not contact Cellular Abroad for technical support by phone or by email during your trip, we cannot offer any refund or compensation.
Dialing Information
Your phone needs to be an unlocked dual-band, tri-band or quad-band GSM phone capable of functioning on the 900/1800 MHz GSM band in order to accept the SIM card.
Your Sweden Cell to US: 001 – area code – phone number
US to Your Sweden Cell: 011 – 46 – 9-digit number (drop the first 0)
Your Sweden Cell Number to Sweden: 10 digit phone number
Sweden to Your Sweden Cell Number: 10 digit phone number
Important: Toll free 800 numbers based in the US can not always be called from overseas cell phones.
Please Note: There is no support for service when roaming outside of Sweden
Rental Setup
- Make sure the phone is charged and the menu settings are in English.
For SIM Card Purchases Only
Snap out the SIM chip from the SIM card and insert the chip into your GSM Phone with the metal portion facing down as to make contact with the contact prongs.

PIN and PUK codes
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code prevents unauthorized access to the SIM card in your phone. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times in a row, the SIM card will be blocked. To un-block the SIM card, you will need to enter the PUK (Personal Unlock Key) code. Please consult your manual for how to disable the PIN-check feature
Activating your service
- Your first call in Sweden will activate your service.
Voicemail
The first time you call into your voicemail you will be asked to create a four digit password and record an outgoing voicemail message.
- Call 888 to listen to your messages and enter the main menu
- Call 885 to change your outgoing voicemail message
- Call 886 to change your voicemail password
Call waiting
You can activate call waiting by dialing *43# and then Call/Send
Checking Call Credit
- Dial 220 and follow the voice prompts.
Purchasing More Talk Time
- The most convenient way is by calling Cellular Abroad 001
310-862-7100 before as well as during your trip or Toll Free from a landline
in Sweden at 00-800-362-33333 (24/7 English speaking reps) .
- Purchase a Lebara Mobile top-up voucher at gas stations, convenience stores, magazine kiosks, and supermarkets all over Sweden.
Recharging your SIM card
--For physical vouchers:
- Carefully scratch the grey field to reveal your voucher number.
- Dial 220 <send>. Your balance will be told to you.
- Press 2.
- Enter the 12 digit code then #.
- Enter the 4 digit control number (located to the right of the 12 digit voucher number) then #.
- You will now hear your new balance.
--Without physical vouchers:
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to make or receive calls switch networks on your phone. Consult your phone’s manual. The steps will be like these:
- Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Available Network/Change Network > Search
- Select a different network carrier than the one currently shown.
If you are receiving no reception bars, emergency calls only, SOS, or no service
check your phones band setting: Consult your phone’s manual. The steps will be like these:
- Menu > Settings/Setup > Network > Network Setup >Band
- Make sure you select 900/1800

International:
- Calls to the US 0.98 SEK (approx. $0.14 cents US) per minute
- Calls to landlines in Europe are 0.48 SEK (approx. $0.07 cents US) per minute
- Calls to Mobiles in Europe are 3.48 SEK (approx. $0.50 cents US) per minute
Domestic:
- Calls within Sweden are free when calling within the Lebara network
- Calls to landlines in Sweden are 0.98 SEK per minute (approx. $0.14 cents US)
- Calls to other mobile networks are 1.98 SEK per minute (approx. $0.28 cents US)
SMS
0.98 SEK (apprx. $0.14 cents US) per message (200 characters)
To inquire about the possibility of extending your SIM card’s service life while outside the SIM card’s country of origin, contact the telecom provider's customer service, Cellular Abroad does not provide support for this feature.
Service Life
If there has been no activity on the SIM for 90 days the SIM will expire and cannot be reactivated. This includes making or receiving calls and adding talk time to the SIM.
