Your Russia SIM Card Cell Phone Number:
Your Russia mobile phone number is printed on the white label affixed to the envelope containing the Russia SIM card. It may also be found at the top of your welcome letter affixed to the SIM card and begins +7 9.
Activating your service:
- Go to Russia
- Be sure that your battery is charged
- Turn on your phone
- Activate service by calling 0619 <Send> and wait for a confirmation message after you hang up. The Megafon service will send you a message in Russian with your account balance. The balance will be in Dollars, it should be easy enough to figure out if you don't read Russian. This number and the Russian instructions are on the inside cover of the Megafon SIM card Package.
Checking Your Credit:
Dial *102# and press the call or send key. You will receive a text message on the screen with your current credit. As a second option, you may also dial 696 and a voice will tell you what your credit is - in Russian.
Recharging Your SIM Card:
Your SIM card includes an initial airtime credit voucher code of $3.00, which you may load once you arrive in Russia. Additional credit is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload codes (not another SIM card), in Russia. These airtime vouchers are available in $5, $10, $20 and $50 denominations:
- Simply scratch off the gray protective layer to reveal your voucher code.
- Dial: *110# then the 18-digit refill voucher code, then # (without spaces) then press CALL or Send. When punched into the keypad of your international cell phone the voucher code will credit your SIM card the respective dollar denomination you purchased.
- Airtime vouchers are available locally, in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Caucasus region), at local tobacco shops, convenience stores, Megafon shops and authorized dealers.
- Remember: Do not purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! Your only need a recharge voucher! And your incoming calls are always free even when you run out of airtime.

Cellular Abroad recommends the use of a calling card in order to lower the cost to place international cell phone calls when outside of Moscow. These are often found at convenience outlets, right alongside recharge vouchers.
Service Life:
After activating your SIM card, your account is valid for up to 12 months without a recharge. If you account reaches 0 (zero) balance then you must recharge your account within 30 days or your Mobile phone number will be recycled. After the 12 months, any remaining credit on the prepaid account is lost and the SIM card is deactivated. You will not be able to use this number again or "revive" the SIM card. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card

Customer service for your Russia Megafone prepaid SIM card is available 24 hr./day by dialing 500 at any time from your Russia cellular phone or 507 7777 from a fixed line. To reach Cellular Abroad from Russia, call 011-310-862-7100, 8AM - 6PM Pacific Time, 7 days a week. You can also send an email to support@cellularabroad.com. If you are having a problem and you are unsure who to consult, please call Cellular Abroad or relay a message to us through a contact at home. Usually there is a simple fix.
